I had a shaky steering wheel problem on Mercedes CL. Exactly the same story, constant wheel balancing, changing wheels and tyres and the problem never went away. After a year of suffering I just sold it. And what pissed me off the most is that every time they did a little adjustment, they asked me to come a test drive it, as if it wasn't obvious that the car shakes.

He is spot on, people only tolerate it just because it is a famous brand name along with many other European exotics. If these same brands were everyday commuters cars with this kind of reliability & workmanship they would be out of business.

Mate I bought a 2011 Mazda 3 from the dealership I paid 23 k I still have it with 270,000 ks on the clock apart from changing the main engine mount I have had no problems with it. So it does the same job as any super car as far as getting from A to B the only thing it can't do is inflate your ego.

My son has a 1999 Toyota hi-lux that I had from new that I gave him once he obtained his provisional licence, it now has 400,000 kms on it. Starts every day and doesn’t burn oil. 400,000 kms. Nothing beats quality .

I had one Ferrari (a 348ts) and there was ALWAYS something wrong with it. Always. I bought it with about 200 miles on it from an estate. I won't bore the reader by listing all of the problems, but they were many and substantial (I have been a consultant to IndyCar and F1 so I'm not exactly a car novice!). The service and parts were beyond comical and priced at are-you-kidding-me prices, and I even did most of the work myself. I gave up on it and bought a 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo and have never looked back. The Porsche is 10X the car that the Ferrari was, at a much, much lower price, and I even bought the Porsche brand new. I've now had it for 22 years and all I've ever done is put a clutch in it and change the oil periodically. It has 77,000+ miles it, will go 192 mph, gets 26 mpg at 80 mph on the cheapest gas you can put in it (like all modern cars it has a knock sensor, so premium gas is really not needed unless you're tracking the car) and is as bulletproof as a car can be. Ferraris are driveway jewelry and nothing more. You could no more drive one as a daily driver than you could walk across Lake Michigan is sandals. If it's important for you to impress somebody, buy a Rolex and save a fortune!

Owned a lancia delta intégrale in 93.. it was such a nightmare to fix that I decided to never own an Italian supercar ever again. It was always broken ( integrale was not really a super car but you get the point)

I don't have your budget in regard to hobbies, but I am pretty into mechanical keyboards. I've learned that no matter how much money you throw at a premium product expecting to get perfection and no issues, it's not really a realistic mindset to have. Individual units can and will have issues no matter how premium of a product you think you are purchasing. I don't know if all Ferrari owners have the issues you have so cannot comment on that. Just making the point that individual units of any brand will have issues that no one else might not experience because mistakes do happen even with premium brands. In regard to your issues: One thing that really struck out to me was the issue that you could not drive it over 70mph without the steering wheel shattering. That sounds dangerous and it seems very strange that they could not diagnose this issue in all of the repair shops you took your car. And how can you tell your service experience with Ferrari being an overall positive experience if they cannot fix such a serious issue in their car? Smiles and free test drives of cars can only matter so much with an issue like that.

Locking nut goes in the hole to the left not in the towing eye - but your mate has no doubt worked that out by now. I'm going to be honest here, I've owned my 997.1 for 14 months & never knew that compartment was even there - so thank you :) Still excited about owning it. So nice to have a friend along with these big purchases, it is nerve racking.

Well done , great video could not agree more . I think all these so called super cars reliability fit and finish need improvement. I have switched to Porsche I have had 3 Turbo S in the last 8 years with next to no problems and they have held their value . PS that was honest and straight forward . M

At 6:50 - that's really important. As a child, I loved the Ferrari Testarossa. It was one of the best cars in the deck of cards - it was driven in Miami Vice - and then I saw it in real life. And I was terribly disappointed. No gaps were even. The workmanship seemed cheap. My mother's Ford Fiesta was much better made in every respect. I would never think of buying a Ferrari.

3 years ago I bought an adjustable queen sized bed for around $2000 US and it started breaking down 6 months later. And now i'm going to be in the market for a new bed any day now. Things are built cheaper and cheaper and we pay the price as consumers. And I researched and read reviews on this bed and then they were stellar, so not sure what happened with my bed. Maybe it was built on a Monday or a Friday..lol

I used to have an AMG CLK55 with a warped wheel issue . Every time the dealer had to rebalance and replace the rotors I think it's a manufacturer defect because I got the rotors replaced a dozen times (under warranty) and wheels balanced I can't even remember how many times. The steering wheels would shake Everytime the car goes above 60mph. It drives great when there are no issues but the problem is you shouldn't accept persisting problems just because the car drives great. Anyways I got rid of the car as soon as the warranty expired. Later I got an LC500, no issues , perfect exhaust note, sure it's a tad slower and don't hug the road, but it has never failed on me.

Don't you dare criticize "Ferrari", you risk getting on their block list or they might go judicial and confiscate "your" car. Ferrari is officially a sect now because they are acting like it :)

Every luxury product dealer should take note. Ferrari's methods are a lot like Rolex.
